As in the topic. I am contemplating buying the new Mac Mini and am wondering whether RimWorld would run into any performance issues with the integrated Iris graphics card.

I can run it on an Intel gma 945 mobile with a bit of frame rate drop when zooming out or when 100 people are visiting my colony.
It's a really crap integrated card from around 2006, so as long Rimworld doesn't gets some crazy shaders or some kind of a more complex graphical update you shouldn't run into any problems.

Cool, thanks!

My desktop is dying a slow and horrible death.  And since I don't do any graphics-heavy gaming, I started using my data back up system for gaming.  (I have no budget for a new desktop at the moment.)

This is what I now game with:

It's a little slow and stuttery, but it does the job.

That looks like an old LCD TV from 2005. ;D

MacG

I'm running off a Mac mini with an intel hd3000.  It works ok. Big raids can get a bit choppy. But if I quit and reload it smooths out a bit.

My work laptop can run rimworld at 60fps, FPS only drops during a storm.

Intel I3 3217U - 1.80GHz
6GB RAM
Intel HD 4000

If the specs are equal or greater than this then i would definitely go for it! :D
My home PC is where all the real power is Haha ;)

Cala13er

My laptop runs Rimworld perfectly when I actually use it, with hardly and frame rate drops.

Intel Pentium - Dual Core 2.4GHz
8GB RAM
Intel HD 3000 Graphics

Interesting. From the last few posts it seems to look like the biggest bottleneck for this game is the RAM, and not the GPU.

Zanthras

Ive played it on a 2011 era macbook air. Runs hot, but is very playable.

well i can play the game on my old laptop i use for work , and I have this

I'm on a 2010 Mac and the game runs just fine, as long as I don't zoom out too much or use the larger map sizes.

Just to chime in, Core i3 6GB RAM w/ Intel HD3000:  No issues running it.  Small lag spike when 100+ visitors show up late game, but very VERY playable.

Thanks everyone for your inputs. I think we can close this thread as I got my answer. It seems that anything made in the last 5 years will be able to run RimWorld, provided it has enough RAM to deal with the late game.
