Love this game- been playing it for 3 days straight since i got it.... only a few things i want to mention

1- For some reason- as the game goes on - i have had less and less traders/visitors. Almost to the point where they never show up at all now in my current and only game .... is it supposed to be like this?

2- Why do my colonist shoot things from the furthest possible distance? it seems they go out of their way to do it sometimes

3- Job priorities are good if you micro manage them- but on the default settings they lead to a lot of colonist doing the same job

4- Random little problems with combat/armor/weapons (not huge- but things like an armored guy getting meleed by a squirrel get weird lol)

5- Why cant power lines go through turrets instead of around them ?

Thats about it- im about to go start a new game since i just got messed up. Love this game so far- just to clarify lol

1- it's made so that you can't increase your population after a certain point by buying slaves
2- I don't know how this works( I don't understand coding)
3- It just depends on how you set it up
4- It's makes a good story like if a single dear kills your entire colony
5- They don't have to be directly side by side to be connected

1- yea but why cant i trade for goods at least? i literally dont even get traders anymore.

4- lol =)
5- battery's do- but youre right i guess- turrets dont have to

Stormkiko

To that respect, for #5 and batteries having to be directly connected, if I'm not mistaken you could have wire going from source (A) to the battery (B) and then from the battery to the output (C) and still have it connected. A-------BB--------C. That should still have A powering C, either directly or indirectly (Through charging the battery and it discharging to the output) I could not say for sure which it would be, however it would still save the (ultimately small amount of) metal but more importantly space of having to put wires around the battery.

I dunno if the trader problem might be related to Cassandra, she tend to get more stingy and cruel over time I hear. I've been playing on Randy only since like A2, and I still don't have any issues with lack of traders by year 4 of my last colony.

Noobshock

I'll concur with Cassandra being surprisingly stingy on traders as the game goes on longer.

Slave traders are also insanely rare. At least on Cassandra anyway.

Matthiasagreen

Slave traders have their own set of rules. Regular traders are just an event. Slave traders are actually based on your population. Any story teller won't send you slave traders if your population is above the soft cap for your storyteller.
Hi, my name is Matthias and I am a Rimworld Addict. It has been five seconds since my last fix...

yea i was playing on the middle difficulty (cassandra) - what do most you of you guys play? whats the standard mode for the Riftworld community

ShadowTani

That depends on what type of game you want to play. If you want an increasingly challenging game that forces an endgame, either by loss or escape from the planet, stick to Cassandra. If you want to focus on just building your dream base, chose Phoebe. If you want a linear challenge that allows you to play without necessarily having to worry about an endgame, then go for Randy.
