I was just really curious to see what the rimworld community wanted to see added, so i made a poll.

Ever since I've seen a cleaning robot suggested, I want one. (so, mechanoids)
Some sort of psychic wave has swept over the landscape. Your colonists are okay, but...
It seems many of the scythers in the area have been driven insane.

Slaves bow down to me Mwhahaha..

Nah. I would like some forced prisoner labor
Feed them small amounts of food work them tirelessly.... until they drop Then my good friends, then we harvest there Organs... xD

I picked prisoner labor too, but I would have picked "vehicles and mobile devices" if that was what the "car and planes" option was called. The reason is that I'm not too keen on the idea of planes, and cars, at least in my head, implies more casual vehicles rather than practical and rougher vehicles such as jeeps, trucks and tractors which I really think fit the Rimworld colony theme more.

Kagemusha

I was torn on this one; I bee-lined for the "ability to raid..." option but held back when it said "other colonies" since this had the feeling of the type of 'griefing' prevalent in modern MP games. But, this is not a multiplayer game and if it ever becomes multiplayer I sincerely hope it is of the co-operative variety.

The ability to raid the raiders is what I want. To be able to retaliate against them or pre-emptively keep them in check.

Other option would be servile mechanoids. With the added aspect that owning them would likely increase mechanoid aggression against your colony.

I sure as hell hope this doesn't turn into a clash of clans type of game...  :P

If that was even remotely possible I would build that space ship right away and get the hell off this planet. :P

Also picked the mechanoid option mainly so if it was built id be able to see how Tynan would implement such a thing. I have a roomba and a quadcopter mod working but its hacky at best and i wont release it in its current state way too many "workarounds" i dont really like. Colonist pawn code is just not that easy to work with.
Skullywag modded to death.
I'd never met an iterator I liked....until Zhentar saved me.
Why Unity5, WHY do you forsake me?

bullwinkle

ability to raid other colonies only if they are AI colonies, multiplayer just wouldnt be fun in this game with all the greifing that would go on.

though, using prisoners as labour would be great also, even if it was just cleaning and hauling things for me.

keylocke

i would've chosen 4 :

-robots
-prisoner labor
-ability to attack other colonies
-vehicles

why should i pick just one? (so i didn't vote) 'coz it's strange to see the results of polls with imbalanced questions. (it can sometimes lead to misleading info). sorry.

as for the multiplayer griefing part : have you guys not enjoyed playing RTS games like starcraft, war craft, etc?

the whole genre of RTS games are mostly dedicated to griefing other player's bases.

Attacking other bases, in multiplayer. This could even be a way to make the spaceship awesome. Building a space ship could be the prerequisite for raiding other bases, which wouldn't only make adequate sense but also give the space ship a function Alt+f4 can't do better. The attacker then loads his ship with colonists and supplies, and uses an array of some sort to search for target planets. The game tries to find a balanced match based on raid strength versus colony wealth (defender), and potential target (minding their business in single player with online enabled) gets a promt. "I'm really most dreadfully sorry, sir, but if it's absolutely no bother at all would you mind even the slightest, tiny bit being attacked by a menacing raid from orbit in a minute?" y/n. If the defender answers no, he wouldn't mind it, it's real time combat at normal speed. The attacker gets anything and anyone he can haul of the map, and the defender gets anything and anyone he manages to keep on the map.

Wex

Actually, the tought of stopping react to attackers and simply taking the business in your own hands, and raze the base of those b****ards is pure genius.
