Colonist Not Cleaning any rock rubble

For some reason now, I can't get my Colonist to clean up after mining.  I can't even click on the rock rubble to prioritize clean up anymore.   I've tried to set everyone to clean only and they just mill around with a idle colonist message. 

Just tried to make a new game and have them mine them clean the rubble.  No luck

you mean the rubble after they dig a hole?  That's just a "dirty" floor that they will clean if it is in a home zone and the colonist has nothing else to do (Cleaning is the lowest priority job)

I suspect you didn't set a home zone.

cleaning and firefighting only happen inside the home zone.
