The wiki is useful for the basics, but a lot of things haven't been updated with successive alpha's. I'ld really recommend joining the slack too - they've been really helpful to me (but don't expect them to just teach you modding, show some initiative!)

You make a good point Being on slack has helped me immensly as well, so definetly join whenever you get a chance!
