Can DvDs be played on a desktop pc? I have tried to play them on my computer, and the disc is registered as being inserted in the pc, but when I click the disc icon in My Computer, nothing happens.
You see this tank?

This tank is the epitome of "I'm going to destroy you"

This tank can make Chuck norris cry.

All hail the Takemikazuchi.

That's weird... try opening it manually with your media player of chose.

Thanks. I'll try.

The reason I am asking this is that for my birthday today I got Deadman Wonderland and the film The Road and I'd like to watch them.

It actually depends on the driver you have. It has to be made specifically made for DVD's. You can usually tell if the front of the CD drive says DVD on it.
Hi, my name is Matthias and I am a Rimworld Addict. It has been five seconds since my last fix...

Happy Birthday vagineer1.

I usually use VLC to watch DVD's on my computer. Odd that your computer didn't immediately bring up a dialog box asking you what you wanted to do with the DVD you inserted, as that's what it's supposed to do.

Well it did. But the only options available were Import Photos and Videos, and Take no Action.

The Disc Drive has that little DVD Video logo on it, and the disc icon in My Computer has a DVD symbol on it.

Thanks both of you. I downloaded and installed VLC and I can now watch some post apocalyptic action.
