[W|0.8.657] - Game Crash on randomly generating colonists button

Summary / Steps:
Here's a weird error / crash.  So, I was starting a new colony on a map that was previously generated (ie: "RimWorld581Win" was used to make the map.)  After selecting my starting site, I was on the character selection screen and I was hitting the random button until I found a colonist that would be great at art and crafting... It appears that I pushed the random button too many times though and the game crashed back to windows.  (However, I was going slow enough to see what the stats were.  I wasn't pressing the random button like a mad man might...)  Any who, after pressing the random button for the third character it crashed and told me to send Ludeon the files... (See attached files please.)

Please note: before the game crash, I attempted to load a colony that was started with a previous version of the game (ie: "RimWorld581Win").  It loaded, but the screen was completely black. (I think the camera was way off screen, because I could hear noises like I was doing stuff, but I never actually saw anything besides a black screen.)  I forced-exited the game, then accidently loaded the older version of the game (ie: "RimWorld581Win"), and tried to start a new colony on the same map.  After realizing that I just loaded the older version, I closed the game out and started the new version (ie:0.8.657 aka "RimWorld657Win") and attempted to use the same map with a new colony, and experienced the crash as a result when hitting the random button on the third character... So, maybe that has something to do with it. Who knows...

I don't know about your first problem, but I had this one myself and Tynan was kind enough to highlight one small but kinda obvious mistake. This happens (or did for me at least) when trying to make a new map or load a save from a world before the latest update, so I deleted all worlds from before the update and made new ones and havnt seen this since.
Edit: Just realized I misread some of what you said so this is kinda irrelivant, but possibly the same cause?

You can't use old world files with newer versions.
