What to do with immobile prisoners you don't want to recruit?

I did the harvesting organs thing and the penalties were so severe that half my colony of 16 went into mental breakdown.

I have three 99 difficulty prisoners, all with at least one limb missing.

Right now I've refused them medical attention and eating.  Does that count as execution when they eventually die?

I have had prisoner release set for quite some time but since they cant move, they aren't being released.

You could replace any missing legs/feet with peg legs, only costing 1 medicine (for the operation) and 1 wood, and then release them once the anesthesia wears off.
Some sort of psychic wave has swept over the landscape. Your colonists are okay, but...
It seems many of the scythers in the area have been driven insane.

Woe be it to anyone with a 99 recruitment in my jail, because they're going to lose their legs and have to stumble their way home. Unless it's early in the game and I have a colonist needing a transplant or I'm really broke, in which case their fate is even less fortunate.

I tend to go with the "Salvage for parts" option.

Mental breakdown from the negative attributes far outweighs what you salvage.

Plus,  I'm doing fine on silver so I can just buy what I need.

The negative effects from harvesting organs or selling them just last too long(and stack) in my humble opinion, yet there is a way of getting rid of brain dead/unreleasable prisoners quickly(as opposed to starving them) with no side effects:

Build a single Improvised turret in your prison and make it force target unwanted prisoners.

Afterwards jut don't forget to turn off force target or it'll just keep pumping led in the poor bastards :)

Edit: I do remember a save game where i had a lot of medicine so i patched some up with peg legs only to release them as cannon fodder just before a faction they hate are about to reach my front door. *Insert EVUL psychotic laugh*

This all seems far too much effort?

I just go for the textbook "Leave them to bleed out unless they have good stats because they chose to attack ME method"

Alternatively I've heard that throwing molotovs at them makes the bleeding out more painless.
