Was starting up an mountain colony.
built a spolar panel to get power that worked for several days, needed another one so i built another one just next to the old one. worked fine untill a solar eclipse, (im not sure if it started not working after this event or later)
eclips ended but still no sunpower. has not been any solar power over 3 days now. (had to make sure that i was not going mad so i ran a couple of more days and still nothing)

Saving and reloading does nothing, restarting game does nothing.
No mods.

as i am typing this i starting to realise what is happeing, i built them almost against a mountain wall, for some reason the game tought that it was a good idea to put a roof over them. just using the remove roof tool made them work again.

im leaving the post here if others have/get the same problem

I had this problem as well, but (luckily :p) it took me less time to find out.

I think some exception should be made that if a solar panel is build next to a mountain wall it doesn't put a roof over it, because it honestly doesn't make any sense :p

"Let's build a solar panel here, and now we are building anyway, why not put a roof over it?" :p

indeed, lets protect those vulnerable solar panels with a tin roof. what if there is rain on them :P

im not going to say that it alone doomed my colony, but im pretty sure it was a major part of it.

Can recreate this next to built buildings as well.
Each year of thy life is the foundation for the next. The man who squanders his youth needs must build his life on a foundation of mud, and then wilt it collapse.
