It's a game of deception. basically, you have a town full of people, most of them are townies, the innocent. Then you have the mafia and a few other roles, Witches who can control others, Werewolves who kill everyone. etc.

pretty much have to lie through your teeth to survive until the end, killing, investigating and lynching until only your allies remain.
