Hi guys

So, I got tired of watching Quill18 and Mathas playing Rimworld so badly that I decided to start my own playthrough.
I started on the Challenge level, but I am already feeling that it's too easy. We'll see.
Anyway, here is the link to the playlist

I am already pretty hooked to this game :-)

As always, comments are welcome.

You'll need to stock pile a bit of food for winter, not much as it looks like you've gone for a safer map location.
That said you may want to think about aircon/layout for your colonists as after winter passes you'll get Summer (heat waves) which can knock over your healthiest colonists easily.

> There are a heap of Youtuber guys around playing rimworld so maybe search "Rimworld A8 ep 45(ish)" to see other guys late game designs.
> I'm currently playing on a icesheet map so maybe not mine :P

Cheers mate.

I was actually wondering about the best setup for coolers.
The thing is, by cooling the mountain rooms, the hot exhaust will go into the corridor and heat it up. Add more rooms and the corridor becomes boiling.
How to avoid that?
I am thinking of creating an exhaust room of just one tile with walls all around. Then it's only this tile that will become hot. Is that a viable solution?

2 coolers.
> heater port internal, set for 15C. Select the cooler and internal room should show as "warm" border. external cooler port must be outside in order to work.
> cooler port internal, as normal. set for 15C.
They should equalize each other though as the weather changes "closed/boxed" rooms off the corridor will set at ~15C as colonists enter and exit over time.
Having an "airlock" to your looping corridor is handy as the temp change will be lower as colonists then enter/exit the mountain/structure.

Alpha 8 playlist will be 5 more eps for Friday. should have an answer to colony temperature issues though keep in mind that i've a year round winter :P.

Cheers mate

I would like though, to not have the coolers pointing outside the mountain but rather into a closed up exhaust room which will be very hot - and see if that is a viable solution.

FridayBiology

you'll have to use a "airvent" linking to a "no roof zone" point for the excess heat. To avoid damage from possible build up.

Ah and that zone could still be at the edge of the mountain where a no roof zone is allowed.

as long as the "airvent" is labeled "outside" its all good.

The airvent is working great!

This game does not seem to garner that many views though.
I wonder how it fares on other channels comparably.

I will start up a Extreme Challenge game tomorrow.
I've run a few tests and it's extremely difficult ;-)
