Smoky the bears worst nightmare

All i want to do is start a forest fire...
I started in the rain forest with its lush vegetation, and since its a rain forest I didn't think anything of the frequent rain that stopped my fires spreading. After a couple dozen tries I started to get suspicious though...
Next, i moved onto a temperate forest adjacent to a desert with 612mm of rain annual and tried again. Still, like clockwork, smoky the bear summons the rain gods to squelch my blaze at every attempt.

So, i ask you your advice my fellow pyros:
Is there enough vegetation in the desert to feed the lustfull flames, and is it arid enough to escape the reaches of the rain.
Or should I try a colder biome, looking to set blaze to the snowfields and the kindling they hide as the rain freezes in place.

All i wanna do is watch the world burn... is that so bad?

Rimworld has a feature that, if there is too much fire on the map, rain will automatically pour down to put it out. This is mostly due to lag issues and an inability to deal with large-scale fires in colonies. Talk to the person who made the Crash Landing mod, they know how to disable it.

The guy who suggested the mood debuff for harvesting prisoner organs.

Fire was optimized on Jan 5th, so hopefully we'll get more catastrophic forest fires! Firefighting optimized too, so that'll be a nice tool for counterplay.

I've managed to get some surprisingly big fires in the most recent patch. Here are some:

The only way I've managed to get big fires going is by loading up 20 colonists with inferno cannons and having tribals attempt a raid.

disable rain O_o
er meh gerd, I needs it.

need a mod with flamethrowers, fire extinguishers, and sprinkler systems. Not gunna lie sometimes I wish i had me a sprinkler system... I'm a pyro at heart and sometimes my rimworld colonists pay the price when it gets a little bit more than i was prepared for =D
