Spam Bots

I've been seeing "lots" of spam bots lately.  ("Lots" for RimWorld.  Not a lot compared with other forums, but a lot for us.)  Has it reached a point that's causing problems / requires action?

Very apropos with the timing of this thread. I think we need some bot prevention. This is going to turn into a living hell for the moderators otherwise.

Looks like it's been handled.    They're pretty awesome about that.

But like I said - comparatively, this is a very small issue.  So I'm not sure if it needs anything more than the occasional deletion.

Howdy there Milon! Very sorry for the spam-bot filth earlier but I'll be doing my best to hit them from now on at times where other mods aren't readily available.

On forums I've been at previously, during heavy attacks, they made some posters "Prefects"

Likely not at this level here, but

In effect these posters became moderators with only one moderator ability. The ability to move an entire thread to another forum. No other powers.

A forum was created that was visible only to the real moderators and admins, and, all spam was re-directed there.

Hey Ramsis, no worries!  I was neither complaining nor looking for an apology.  Just trying to open a discussion on the topic, so I'd call that a success.

Nope, I've evolved. Nowaday I use a rifle with rune engraved bullets. Less drain on my own runes and still rather deadly to those pesky Sartan ;P

Pretty smart, kinda surprised I haven't heard of this idea before on other communities.
