What to do with excessive loot/corpses?

Previously, I used an out of the way dump pile and let raiders rot in the sun there, same for all their stuff I didn't want. Hauling animals helped clear things faster too.

If you're not opposed, there are certain mods that I've found useful. Now that I use the Medical Dissection mod, I haul as many fresh bodies I can into a special freezer for my docs to train on. The resultant leather gets made into stuff or sold, and the meat used to make kibble. I also have a mod that adds a corpse burning generator and a machine that can break corpses down into medical gel. As for their loot, clothes I'll sometimes salvage for materials, but mostly I leave things out to degrade because most of the weapons aren't worth it.

Still use animals haulers, they just help speed things up even if they don't haul all the time. Unless its stone chunks. My huskies apparently love hauling stone chunks.

I set up a dumping ground where I gather all the corpses. Either surround it with stone walls and/or concrete floors and colonists will gather corpses there. I don't bother with stripping the corpses and I'll only make sure to gather any guns above normal quality.

After all the corpses are gathered just toss in a molotov and let them burn. Make sure the corpses dumping area isn't in your home zone.

If you have animals - make them a feeding freezer.
if you dont have animals - make a stockpile out of the way of your colonists and use fire (molotov, incendiary launcher)

i personally have good experience with crematoriums, if you have a fast worker and a large stockpile, they get rid of them in no time and you can earn a little bit by getting rid of the loot to traders.

So I tried the dumping-bodies-in-water trick, and the results were interesting.  Not as advertised, but effective nonetheless.  It turns out that if you leave all the bodies in an unused corner of your base, and you have gaps in your perimeter wall for critters to wander in through...

...the local wildlife will swarm your corpse pile.  It turns hunting boar into a turkey shoot.  And you never have to worry about predators again, they're too busy munching on dead bodies or the scavengers on the body pile to bother with your pawns!
If you give an annoying colonist a parka before banishing him to the ice sheet you'll only get a -3 penalty instead of -5.

And don't forget that the pirates chasing a refugee are often better recruits than the refugee is.

Wow! That's like...killing three birds with one stone lol...Very good find. Thank you!!

It just occurred to me that there's something seriously wrong with this.

"We don't bury the people who attack us.  We pile their bodies up and let the rotting stench attract scavengers from miles around, which we then shoot and eat."

Sounds like a feature, not a bug.

I also just pile them up, in a spot that is less likely to be walked by to avoid the mood debuff.
