So I dorfed first two of you - Milon and CarefulRogue. Before I continue I have to ask you guys - do you want to write your own stories and entries? Or should I write them for you? Anyway it's a bit shorter today - I am tired from work - Also not much else happened :D
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Feel free to write whatever seems good. I may add in an entry here or there, but I'll leave it in your hands.

Milon is a girl... Well... Because she was one of the more usefull members of this migrant wave :D

Since Tynun became sure that we ought to be the most glorious and greatest fortress in the world I got a lot more work. One of the reason I left the mountainhome was actually to get some rest. You know... Calm, relaxing job in mining industry. Now I was asked to smooth and engrave the upper parts of pillars. Well... I AM the only engraver here but still I am not very happy... Asen and Inon started digging out the lower floor of the Hall. Or more precisely - a rout around it. I could use some cider right about now...

Well.... Queen sent us someone. Colonists... Two bowyers, farmer, woodcutter and fishery worker. It seems that Karfulrog Asenothduk is their leader. Milon Ubbulshigos is his right hand. I dont really know what to do with them. We cannot fish nearby, dont have much wood at hand and... Well... Allright Karfulrog is a bit skilled fighter - or bandit I'd say. He can still be at least usefull. What can I say... Don't even get me started about the child. I'd say this is part of her revenge. After all this...

Half of the pillars is finished. I think we have more important things to do but Tynan is sure about this project. I still have quite a lot of work. Those new "colonists" are interesting bunch to be truthfull. They mostly sit in the corner, playing dice, watching me... That child is terribly annoying too. At least Id Lolokatir, one of the bowyers, agreed to help me with smoothing. I am not too dismayed altough it may sound like it. I still think we have a potencial here - we just need to work. And maybe more booze. You can never have enough booze, right?

Grand Hall, 25th Malachite, 555, Balun and Id were working...

Id Lolokatir: "... So me and me' mates were hammerd down thar brewery..."
Balun: "Uh-uh..."
I: "... And then Rith was like 'we ain't bladdered enough, that's like way out of order!' and we were..."
B: "Uhuh..."
I: "... Like 'you wot?!' and he fell right down the stairs..."
B: "Uh..."
Rith Erithstelid: "Isn't it though!"

From diary of Tynun Udarerith, expedition leader
2nd Hematite, 555
Last days were hectic to say the least. With the discovery of gold and platinum right under our floors, morale rose up astonishingly. All the brooding and murmiring stopped. We know that we are rich now! I am already thinking how to spend my own share of precious metal! I am thinking about a solid bismuth bronze chest... And - hell - I want to eat only lobsters for the rest of my miserably rich life! I dont even care, that we don't have chairs yet! Hell... I wouldn't have imagined THIS when we started.

From the diary of Sakzul Agonol, farmer
3rd Hematite, 555
That's it! Gold and platinum! I was almost sure that this Tynun guy was a fraud by now! But no - as he promised... Gold, platinum - more than enough for us to choke ourselves on it. I think I can really just take my share in few years and travel back to the mountainhome. God I love this... I may even pay a big escort so the journey will be safe, yes... I am sure that queen will accept a lot of my gold to make me a baroness. YESSS... Baroness... And I can have all the platinum jewelry I want... My preciousss.... O gods...

__________________________________________________________________________
On the sixth Hematite Balun and Tynun met once again...
Balun: "Look Tynun - now that we know about the metals there are some precautions we have to make."
Tynun: "You wouldn't think I will run away with gold!" yelled Tynun
B: "Well no... First of all it's quite heavy... And what would you do with a raw ore for Doren's sake... No I mean goblins - we saw them nearby..."
T: "Right... Goblins..."
B: "I think i could start training with my pick you know..."
T: "You?!" laughed Tynun out loud.
B: "Well why not?"
T: "You couldn't even kill a fly!"
B: "Have you ever tried to kill a fly with a pick?!" uttered Balun.
Tynun laughed and waved: "No neet for us to get in danger! As soon as our new colonists arrive, we'll have enough meat to defend ourselves."

Gold and platinum aside - we are working on the great hall. I never really tought it would be important to have something like this here. But with all the gold and platinum we HAVE to be representing! We are carving out the stone now but soon we have to smooth and engrave the pillars. When we dig out the lower floor, there will be no way to do that. Also I was thinking about the furniture in the hall. Green would be stylish... Vutok prefer red though. Balun said that anything will be fine as long as he can drink there. To each his own I guess...!

Tynun is still smiling. By Lisid why... Why... His ugly face wasn't meant for it... Hell... I don't even care for the gold now. What I care about homewer are those eggs. We finally got nest boxes in place. I fu*kin love eggs. I could eat eggs whole day. Hell I could eat only eggs... Well I like cheese more... Overall I think I don't even really like eggs... but anything is better than plump helmets...

On the eve of 27th Hematite, 555. Dining room of queen Sarvesh Lashbreaches
Queen was sitting at the table, dining on a roasted cave lobster when her chamberer Eliottur entered...
E: "My queen! I am back from your assignement! I managed to find the worst possible company and I already sent it to Idestun!"
Queen grumbled: "So tell me, Elliotur, who did you sent..."
E: "Worst of the worst my queen! No good nobodies, no usefull skills at all! Thieves, murderers, those due for hammering! Only hungry mouths! With this squad I would be surprised if Idestun survive the next winter!"
Queen nodded slowly and pulled out a small letter with Tynun Udarerith's signature. She handed the letter to her chamberer: "Read."
...
...
...
...
E: "Well... Do we really need that go-"
Queen threw fork right at her chamberer, as the fork lodged itself in his forehead, chamberer squeeked!
Q: "YES WE NEED GOLD AND PLATINUM ELLIOTUR! NOW GO DO SOMETHING USEFULL FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!"
E: "Y-Yes my queen, what exa-"
Queen's knife just barely missed Elliotur's head as queen yelled: "FOR STARTERS QUICKLY GET ANOTHER BATCH OF COLONISTS... Gods..."

From diary of Tynun Udarerith, expedition leader
12th Felsite, 555
Our dormitory is almost finished - Udib worked quickly on the beds. Our first harvest is also behind us. We have enough plump helmets to choke on them! I don't know how you see it but I honestly and fully hate plump helmets. I don't know much worse and bland plant to eat. But hey - we won't starve! Vutok is also quite happy that the harvest was successful... So I won't really be negative. I also have to say that I am quite happy that our relationship is yet secret. Due to some circumstances I wouldn't want everyone to know...

So I heard that Vutok was porked by Tynun - our most honorable leader. Well based on what I heard about him back in mountainhomes I am quite suprised... Not by him - not at all... But maybe Vutok didn't heard those stories? Well I might have a word with her soon. After all she ought to know, doesn't she? She would have done the same for me if I was with him and she knew. Let's see how this unfolds.

Dormitory is finally completed. We don't sleep on the ground anymore. It mightn't be the cozyest place but heck - after months of traveling bed is a luxurious commodity over here! And it's only provisional after all. Only thing that bugs me a little bit is the fact that doors are wooden. I have to say they smell quite nice. I think Udib mentioned they were from "cherry tree". Apparently that is one of the less dangerous specimen. Udib keeps saying that trees won't murder you in your sleep but I am just not sure... After all would my mom, nanny and grandmother lied to me all this years? Anyway THIS tree is dead... So I should be safe at any rate!

It took a lot of digging but we are done with the stone storage. Mason and craftsdwarf's workshop is also completed. We will soon be ready to produce every piece of furniture and tool we need. I think we are really progressing fast here. To be truthfull I am a bit puzzled. When I was forced to join this expedition I was sure, we will perish on the way. When we arrived I was even more sure we will all die soon in a tragic accident and now? Now we are planning great hall... I am not very sure what to do now.

_______________________________________________________________________
22nd Felsite, 555 in the mason's workshop.
Balun was preparing his tool. He was right in an assumption that as a mason he will have a lot of work here. Tynun came inside and whistled.
Balun: "Yeah, yeah I hear you..."
Tynun: "Nice workshop you got there..."
B: "It would be a shame if something happened to it, right?"
T: "I guess... Sooo...:
B: "..."
T: "I was just gonna drop by..."
B: "What do you need?"
T: "Cant I just visit an old friend in his workplace?!" Tynun raised his voice
B: "You can... But you don't."
T: "True! But only because I had so much work in the mountainhomes!"
B: "You had work there?" Balun asked with disbelieve
T: "Well of course!"
B: "Not sure if indescreet -..."
T: "- hey, hey hey! No need to talk about past - allright... I was thinking about the great hall..."
B: "Well I don't think you have a problem there..."
T: "I don't?"
B: "Go ask Asen about it... I think I saw her scribbling furiously - plans I guess..."
T: "I guess I will!"

Today I talked at length with our architect Asen. She is extremly anxious to star digging. She talked about two levels of great hall. In the upper level, there should be private dining rooms, bar... In the lower part there will be a grand, traditional hall. Under all of this, we should have new, bigger still and kitchen. She was also babbling abour bauxite tables and chairs... If life at the court of queen Sarvesh taught me anything it was not to argue with megalomania - so... That's what we'll have. I ordered to star the work on the second floor.

Baloun, what a great idea! I've just can't get into DF (I really really tried to), but I love the stories that come out of it. So, dorf me! I'll take Inod the Miner, if that's cool. If not, I'll take a smith of some variety when the migrants come.

What's the fortress's name? What kind of biome did you embark in? Who are the local deities?

Also, if you're interested, there's a RimWorld succession game going on right now!

I shall dorf you during the first migrant wave!

From diary of Tynun Udarerith - Granite 555

15th. Granite, 555
In the name of queen Sarvesh, we arrived near the peak of mount Idestun. We shall strike the earth in the mor-... Well let's start again, shall we? We just battled heavy snowstorm on the way. Pack of feral wolves hunted us for days, we saw goblin patrols near the river and now we are camping just a few feets under the peak.

I can't say I hate this place thought. It would be a terrible understatement. I feel only burning, passionate animosity towards this god-forsaken, ugly, poor sod of a mountain. I was told we will find untold riches here - gold, platinum and silver just sticking out of the mountainside. I hoped I can at the very least became rich in this endeavor. You know the old saying - grief divided is made lighter. Maybe the smard dwarf behind this proverb didn't meant it like this but I sure am glad there are other poor dwarves with me!

While I admire Balun's optimism... I can't stand it. We are friends - dont get me wrong! I know Balun for many years. But here and now his frivoling whistling and optimistic humming is slowly getting on my nerves. But I digress... We are getting tired of sleeping outside. Trees are watching us menacingly, snow is tedious and cold - it is decided. On the 17th Granite, 555, we shall strike the earth under the peak od mt. Idestun.

22nd. Granite, 555
Miners under the guideship of Balun had digged out our provisional entrance. Dug deep into the second hilltop, it will serve as a fortification - in time, provided we will survive, there shall be even bigger entrance. Fact that we don't have to sleep under the sky, watched by those goddamned trees made miracles for our morale. I don't even wish to punch everyone now! Just five-six times a day maybe!

27th. Granite, 555
We are slowly digging in the mountain. While Balun is mining out our farms - small hall near the entrance with good soil - Asen is preparing plans for our provisional dining hall, dormitory, still and kitchen. All is well underway. Best news is homewer from nature itself. Winter is finally over, snow is quickly starting to meld and we are relieved! In other I think I am quite good manager. Everybody here works, I am lying nearby and nobody questions me. If that isn't the highest level of management then I don't know what is!

I decied to start a small Dwarf Fortress story here. Rimworld was heavily influenced by the game so I tought I could introduce the game a bit! I will be updating the story as I play. If you wish to be dorfed (dwarf will be named after you), just write here!

I am looking forward to your commentaries.

Also, please, dont be afraid to point out my grammar mistakes. English isn't my native language but I am willing to learn!

Dear reader,
my name is Tynun Udarerith and these are the pages selected from my diary. They are of finest craftsdwarship and they relate to the founding of fortress Idestun - "Rocksbound". I hope you will find what you are looking for... Or won't. I don't really care enough about you...

28th. Timber, 554
You see there are moments in life when you simply pull the short stick. Sometimes you end up robbed in the middle of the road, other time you get impaled by an murderous elephant, in a rare ocassion you drown in a badly designed well. My case of short stick was quite different. I became designed expedition leader in the service of dwarven queen Sarvesh from the kingdom Bodice of Skinning. Queen's decission was made known to me by a simple, friendly letter.

To be honest I kind of did deserved a jail time. It simply wasn't wise to do medical work on the queen while drunk. Yes, she lives. Yes, the cuts healed. Yes, the vomit was cleaned. Homewer it still wasn't the best decision in my life. You might ask why I didn't protest against the decision or what is wrong with a promotion like this... First things first - I did protest.

Homewer it wasn't very succesfull. As to the second question... Well starting a colony on a new, wild, dangerous, goblin-infested continent is quite a dangerous job. It is often linked to a gruesome case of short stick - as mentioned earlier. And I felt that I pulled mine in life already. And since I wasn't going to die there alone it was only logical to contact my best friend with a honest and truthfull proposition.

Balun, skilled miner and mason, off course quickly accepted and in a few weeks assembled his company. Meanwhile I tried to recruit others. It didn't went awfully good. My poster in the stables wasn't really successfull. But hey - I did what I could! I met with Balun in the autumn in Amostzes. He was quite surprised to see me alone but I truthfully explained that others will arrive soon! And technically I was right. Queen promised that should we survive, she will send others. Altough Balun looked a bit distracted he agreed to join me anyway. And so we set sail to the brave new world! Me, Balun and some new goons I had never seen in my life...

I will download it when I get off work and get my turn done!

EDIT 1: I sent Jaxxa all my information so I can get access to it when I am off work.

EDIT 2: @s22190, you should add what pawn was used during each persons play through to the page so we know. I plan on using Baker as my leader.

I am not sure if our first overseer really fully used a pawn. But I'd say we should! Also let's reserve these pawns and write som diary-log in the meantime.

Edit: I need to contact Jaxxa to get push access to upload file. Maybe you'll have to wait until tomorrow Baloun, sorry.

2nd Edit: Files are up ! The story is under Fort Macarena (Its Apache Open Office textfile. You should be able to open with Words or any program that can open words)

The save file is name Nemacolin (which is weird because the in-game name is Fort MAAACAREEEENA!). Its permadeath too. No reloads.

Goodluck Baloun !

Nice! I will look up into it after work. I think I might have it played through tonight.
