Mostly I just wish there was a way to mark the animals I wanted for combat, who could die and the animals I want to keep for wool or milk or because they are cool.  It would be nice to say these are the war elephants or bears or wargs and they go fight and sometimes die, and that is sad, but not break your mental health sad...

We were starving, raiders had taken down our power. It was cold and miserable. The Muffalo had eaten the last of the food. We kept breaking and throwing our clothes off and wandering around in the snow.  My colonists were fighting each other and through it all our Huskies, a mated pair with babies on the way, kept saving us. Taking us to bed in the campfire warmed room. The man the Muffalo had bonded with died due to infection and the Muffalo broke and trampled the huskies, he killed them both. We lay on the snow and slowly froze and starved to death. The puppies were never born, they were less than a day away from delivering. I cried a little and deleted that sad colony.

Ideas / The mood penality for selling prisoners
May 06, 2016, 02:03:25 PM
I really feel like the only people who should feel bad when you sell a prisoner is the warden/wardens who care for them. It is sort of like a bonded animal in a way. The trainer feeds and talks to and forms a bond with the animal. Only the wardens deal with the prisoners like they are people, feeding and talking to them. Some of my colonists never even enter the prison, why do they care about these people?

General Discussion / My kitty.

I read about the cat I landed with. I was not impressed. I stopped playing for a bit and thought, "My cat comes when I call and brings me dead things. How about the rim world cat?" Then my rim world kitty killed a rabbit for me.  Good kitty.

Ideas / Re: Suggestions wanted: Animals!

I think livestock animals might be a great idea.  Cows, or Yacks, Chickens and Sheep.  Each provides resources, leather, meat, eggs, wool, milk.  You could breed and kill them or just harvest resources like the wool or eggs. It could be an event like the alpha beavers.  You have spotted Cows roaming on the plains.  Jump to location?  click on cow Capture cow, kill cow, harvest from cow.  If you have a live stock "room" then you can catch other wise you have to kill or harvest.  You could make "farm fence" to make a room for live stock.

I think that is a good idea.  You won't wake up to random strangers sleeping in your potatoes anymore.  Also if you are evil, your guest room can be a trap.

Burn out is tricky.  You love something.  You are immersed.  You then can't even look it in the eye...Take some walks.  Do some other things.  Come back when You have an idea or two...  Being creative all the time is like giving birth.  Bits of you and the things you consume make a thing and then you need more bits of you and more nourishment to make more.  Find a good source and make sure you care for yourself.
