I'm liking the assignment system, just one thing is bothering me though: When I switch colonists' assignments around, they will pick up the new equipment but never drop what they were previously carrying. This is a problem when there is only one of a particular kind of weapon and they continue to hog it so that the colonist that is now assigned the weapon can never get it.

Instead I have to periodically draft a bunch of colonists, march them to the armoury and manually drop every weapon and ammo item they have, before they will properly switch to their new assigned loadouts.

Mods / Re: Disable Dropraids?

I don't have too much of a problem with dropraids myself but it's really weird how in the early stages of a colony sometimes they'll send down a single naked guy with a knife. Talk about judicious use of pods...

Or simply a third option available from the "release" toggle button that causes the animal to keep behind their master (i.e. put their master between themselves and any hostiles) thus out of the way of gunfire.

This would be more useful as then you can quickly toggle to a different mode at an opportune moment or as the need arises.

Ideas / Better reactions to colonist social fights
April 30, 2016, 10:48:19 PM
The idea here is that if a social fight breaks out between two colonists, anyone nearby who is friendly with both of those involved will react in some way. Maybe they will try to break up the fight, or something else I dunno.

It's really jarring how other colonists can just walk past two colonist intent on beating each other up like nothing is happening. Also, allowing other people to intervene will mean that social fights will be less likely to cause serious injuries except under certain conditions, which I think is a plus. Basically unless one or both of the people involved are not really friendly with anyone else, or the fight breaks out in an isolated corner of the settlement, or everyone in the colony is already in a terrible mood or something along those lines.

For some reason as of 1.6.3 I cant manually order colonists to pick up ammunition. Attempting to right-click on ammo items does not show the right-click menu.

Also is there something you need to do to get a colonist to auto-refill their loadout? I try to set it but they never do anything. It hasn't been a problem until now since I only have 5 colonists and manually equipping them hasn't been too much trouble, but now I can't do that anymore...
Did you restart after opening the mod menu?
God damnit I'm sorry.

NoImageAvailable, I'm not sure if you check the issue tracker on GitHub, but there are two issues there right now.

Ideas / Re: Idea how rimkids would work.
April 19, 2016, 02:23:16 PM
Eh, I don't care if they take so long to age that they aren't "useful."  Just make having kids a rare thing and/or provide happiness/social interaction benefits.

I can easily imagine kids (having them, raising them) as a source of storyline and social interaction events for your colony and not just a resource to be exploited, you horrible people :P

I'm glad to hear that development has resumed, A13 just isn't complete for me with CR.

I think it should be implemented that if there are colonists around that are friendly with both parties involved, they will try to break up fights or mediate arguments.

That way you only have these kinds of ridiculous dysfunctions when there is actual factionalization within the colony's relationships, i.e. when you get two groups of friends but not very many friends in between.

In fact maybe I should make a thread for that, I think it would really benefit the game.

Still looking forwards to it, regardless.
