It's a toy, there is no end game.

It just needs lots of new things to build and research.  Research to improve current items, make weird stuff, examine things to reverse engineer.

Fine, choose the default setting you want.

It should be obvious that if you have a structure in place that you had a reason for it to be there, otherwise you'd deconstruct it.  Having a blueprint appear after it's destroyed simply carries forward the player's intent.

The point is to eliminate as much player drudgery and frustration as possible.

Yes, but eventually the program will send in the hordes to justify all those improvements. :)

The point is to eliminate comment clutter. It's not a matter of being lazy but of not adding to the clutter of the thread but still wanting to indicate how one feels about a post.  A simple thumbs up or down should be sufficient.

Raw materials are a different matter.  Plasteel in fact should be a manufactured item.

If you have the knowledge, materials, and power, you can manufacture anything.

As far as goals go, this isn't a game per se, it's a toy. There isn't a goal of end game other than when you get bored with it.  The development goal then should be to have lots of things to research, accessories to build, and multi levels of manufacturing possible to achieve.

What should be considered is the ability to create new things.

Actually there are in the present day kits to stop gunshot and other penetrative wounds from bleeding.

Yea, some things might be tough but a lot more is possible than you think.   Take a view of the last episode of "The Knick".

Ever see the video of the engineers who started their barbecue with LOX? The result was pretty impressive.

But was it a chocolate moose?

Anyway, the program spat out a toxic rain for week and decimated my entire herd.

Animal bones have calcium too, grind them up for it.

You build a space ship.  And then wait for disaster events to destroy your colony.
#12
How about an event that randomly checks if the anti matter engine you are building for your ship collapses it's magnetic core and the resulting explosion glasses over the entire map.

squirrels are the best, but why is there no moose?

As for Turrets, or anything powered, you can put a switch on the line and put it in a building which is your safe room.

You can't defend against random, you can defend against erosion, insects, etc..

And there should be shielding that can be build against emp grenades and solar flairs.
