NON-FUNCTIONAL CARS
This mod adds a new furniture, a car, that provides cover, small amounts of power for chemfuel, and storage for items to keep out of the rain. They are currently not functional. Also adds road, a new terrain type that acts like concrete. Useful for slowing raiders down and making streets look modern. This is my first mod.

Artistic Perspective - Alpha MOD
WARNING: By using this mod you acknowledge that there may be bugs and that this is an ALPHA release of the mod. Just a heads up! It won't break your game, but some stuff may not work right. Despite all that I think it's fine! Please lemme know as it pops up and I'll be sure to get on it! Thanks.
Description:
Artistic Perspective adds new art forms to the vanilla style game while maintaining the atmosphere the base game sets out to achieve. This mod is mostly fluff for the simple art system currently in place, however I felt I should share it since I haven't seen any other mods that toy with the subject in a simple way.

Sub Topic
This mod currently adds books to the game which can be crafted for 70 leathery stuff and is an item that can be traded or kept. I plan to add more arts but hey, I figured I'd get it on the web and see what others think of it. It is my first mod after all.

Features:
-- Crafting of "artistic" books that tell tales! Done at the sculpting table.
-- More to come!

How to install:
- Unzip the contents and place them in your RimWorld/Mods folder.
- Activate the mod in the mod menu in the game.

I just have to say it's super impressive that the mod community filled in the holes in Tynan's development plan by making mods to do things that Tynan said would never be in the vanilla version of the game... https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=12024.0 --

On that list of "NO"s I have seen Alpha 17 mods that achieve the purposes. Multiplayer, Alien races, landable ships, bionic and organ extraction after death + expanded, containers for stacks, fog of war, guards + patrols... All achieved with mods. I think making them that way (Having to download a mod to use them) was a good idea because the vanilla game captures Tynan's vision which is awesome, and the mods can be used to maximize the fun-percentile of the game to 1000!

A year ago or so I seen that list and I agreed and said "Yeah, stick it, whiners" but now thru the power of the code-xsphere, we no longer need that list.... Cool shit : )

QuickEDIT: Oh I just stumbled on more stuff the modding community achieved that was on that list may as well say it for dramatic effect.

- Children breeding and procreation - Exists
- Basic needs like toilets showers - Exists
-Robotics like Roomba - Exists
- Slaves Prisoner workforce - I'm pretty sure it exists ?
-Water as a resource with fishing - Confident that it exists
-Backpacks with extra weapon slots - I seen a sidearm mod last night not sure about backpacks
-Nonlethal weaponry - Exists! That mod that adds rubber bullets
-Rideable animals of all sorts - I seen a mount mod before, right?
-Prisoner Ransom - Well I think vanilla added it already ..

Pretty neat, I have to wonder if the modders seen this list and took a challenge.

Since there is no other place to post this, I'm putting it right here.



My response: I hold no regrets to this post.

I find it disgusting and insulting to Tynan that people doubt his credibility. He worked tirelessly to provide a solid game only to be INSULTED with spews about how he's abandoning it. My stance doesn't change, and I find it equally disgusting that the forums are supportive of this insulting speech towards Tynan.

I like Rimworld a lot and I understand that people bought the kickstart to have their names on the games characters, but I think we should have an option to remove them from the game. I like having completely random people and experiences and seeing Min or Redfields running around in my colonies all the time is so... Boring. Anyway, yeah.

Humankind has conquered a small yet respectable amount of stars near the center of the galaxy, dubbed "The Alliance" by the Starmaster, the leader of humankind itself. Many of the worlds in these systems have reached a technological and human "peak," known as Glitterworlds. However, despite the "peak," crime runs rampant in many parts of The Alliance's less guarded systems. The calender was changed after the destruction of the Omega Senturi System, and the Alliance let go of "AD" and gave birth to "UT" (Universal Time). The year is 4302 UT. Since execution was outlawed in 4300, all capitol offenses result in the expulsion from the Alliance systems. Groups of three are sent indiscriminately to the edges of the galaxy to planets dubbed "Rimworlds." Many die on Rimworlds, leaving their marks and relics to history. Others survive, but lose most of the technology that they once had. The rest form primitive societies, "Tribes," and fend mostly for themselves. Rimworlds, being so far from the Alliance, is a festerpool for piracy. That is all that is needed to be known to understand this story.

Prequel
    I was awoken from my cryptosleep sarcophagi to the sound of sirens and ripping metal. It took me a moment to remember who and where I was. My name was Charles.. No, that's not right.. It's.. Charley! I was 22 years old, and I was a starship janitor before being exiled for treason. I focused back into reality, and down the hall I saw many figures running around the corner heading towards the escape pod bay. I turned around, looking for any other interesting points but saw nothing significant. I began to walk, my shoes bathed in a vile green slime unfamiliar to me. 'I have to pick up the pace!' Running, I caught up to the group, seeing nobody I knew. As if I'd know anyone on the exile ship. A door blocked our path, the room bathed in red light and the ship shaking at random intervals.

"What's going on?!" A familiar voice screamed into the crowd of confused chatter.
"Are we going to die?!" Another voice cried out.
"Everyone just shut up!"

An intercom buzzed, and a stern voice began to speak "Exiles, proceed calmly to the escape pods, and stay in your groups."

    The door creaked and opened, the group pushed into the escape pod bay. 'Is that a beeping noise?' The sound of the alarm was getting on my nerves, but I knew that the alarm was a never-ending buzz noise, no, that's not the alarm, that's the sound of a bomb. Boom! An exaggerated explosion rocked the ship at the other end of the bay, I began to enter a pod beside a young woman and an older man. The room was rapidly decompressing, and suddenly half of the room tore off from the main section of the ship. Many people flew out into space in the blink of an eye, and my pod slammed shut immediately afterwards. 'We barely survived that' I thought to myself as my pod flew out of the destroyed ship and towards a planet devoid of civilization.

"Preparing re-entry protocol 7753." The female pod AI had said, and suddenly my window was covered with a plasteel casing.

    The pod shook lightly, and I had begun to realize that I was shaking not from the cold but from shock. This is it, my death starts now. I thought, as my pod penetrated the frozen soil ground.

Help / (HELP) Adding custom textures to a custom pawn

Hi everyone.. I'm having a problem.

I'm trying to add in a new animal to the game, and I have three textures for the front back and side, however when I try and spawn it ingame, it becomes a pink box and the debug log says

"Failed to find any texture while constructing Graphic_Multi(initPath=Things/Pawn/Animal, color=RGBA(1.000,1.000.1.000.1.000). colorTwo=RGBA(1.000.1.000.1.000.1.000))"

AND

Failed to find any texture while constructing Graphic_Multi(initPath=Things/Pawn/Animal, color=RGBA(0.340,0.320.0.300.1000). colorTwo=RGBA(1.000.1.000.1.000.1.000))

The folder path is correct, I'm pretty sure. And I'm using "<standardBodygraphicPath>AnimalTexturePathHere(/<standardBodygraphicPath>)"

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong? Please help.

Help / Can I make terrain do damage to pawns?

Hello, I just have one question. Is it possible for me to have a terrain do damage to a pawn when it walks over said terrain? How would I go about doing that if it is possible? Thank you.
