A quick announcement:

After much deliberation, I've decided that I will not be updating Prepare Carefully for Alpha 14.

It's been immensely satisfying working on these mods and seeing aspects of them make it into the vanilla game, but it's difficult as a modder to not eventually lose interest and move onto other things.

I appreciate all of the kind words and feedback from what really is a great community and look forward to seeing what's next for this great game.

:'( There goes half the fun must have content. Thank you for the hard work sad to see this die. Kinda hope someone will work on something similar.

Yes i do remember reading about that. But what should i do about size : heater/cooler ratio. Will having more than one ACs/heaters help for larger buildings?

Okaay bit embarassed to admit i've ALWAYS had issues with maintaining room temperature. It seems like no matter how many temperature buildings i add the temperature doesnt really change.

Do i have to spread them out around the base ( i usually build enclosed bases, something about the whole compound feel makes me bubbly)

Lol, If you wanna fix that you can either buy a new stomach or "barrow" one from a prisoner you "like". Note that this procedure like this takes meds and has a chance to fail (if you already didn't know)

I dont get the option to do surgery on the stomach. So i thought you couldnt. I'll do some fiddleing.

I don't think any of the major mods remove Traders or make them more rare.

I think I was running the complete overhaul one recently, definitely getting Bulk traders on that.

Might just be sheer unluckiness.

I've played like 6 colonies since alpha 11a and haven't seen any other trader its frustrating, seriously wanna trick out my peeps with bionics.

Update: 2 hours and 4 minutes into the game and i got my first exotic goods trader.

\Update 2: Ofc now that i complain i start getting the other traders.

Bugs / Trader Question
August 09, 2015, 08:02:50 PM
Okay so i'm having a problem. I only get the Pirate Traders and even rarer Combat Traders.

Were the other traders removed? Or are my mods messing with traders?

I miss those bulk/agricultural traders, i'm playing on an ice map so an occasional food purchase would be cool.

Ideas / Weather slider in options
May 13, 2015, 11:42:09 PM
Okay so more often than not i'm watching anime while playing rimworld. The sound of a thunderstorm drowns out everything else on the computer. Is there a way to program a slider to lower weather sounds without hurting rim worlds other sound effects?

Not a huge issue, but i hat having to adjust the sounds before and after EVERY storm. It also makes me avoid wet climates when colonizing.

Thanks for the feedback. If you refuse medicine to your diseased colonists they increase disease level twice as fast. You cannot treat them other than feeding without medicine. They DO still fight off the disease but in my excperience they reach extreme before the disease is fought off and die.

Again the above is from my personal experience hence my last ditch effort to preserve them in cryo.

Ideas / Base markers?
October 20, 2014, 04:45:31 AM
The ability to assign colonists to specific home-bases (so if you have a big map you can create and expansion on the other side of the map without them running to the original base to build and whatnot.

Not a big NEED it would just fit my playstyle a bit.

I believe it's random, but i'd imagine tougher difficulty levels would have some effect.

General Discussion / Questions Questions Questions.

  • Do carpets stack with smooth-stone floors, beauty wise
  • Can I use the ships cryo-pods to prevent colonist death due to disease (i'm short on medicine and funds)

I would appreciate an answer, i did look to see if i could find the answer via Google and forum search but did not find any results with an actual answer, only other people asking the questions
