More 'Funny' allies moments...
Oh yes... very funny...
I got raided. You know a standard little rush. They have tried it before and it has never worked on this colony. I got the notice I had visitors at the same time which I was happy about because they should soften each other up a bit or so I thought. The two groups met right outside my front door and they didn't shoot at each other... Not one shot... They were blooming friends with each other!

I can only imagine the conversation must have gone something to the tune of
Visitor Leader: Oh hey it's the Rock Tribe!
Raider Leader: Hello there Shanty Town people! what brings you here?
Visitor Leader: We are just visiting, going to eat all their food, shoot up the place, probably put a few locals in hospital. How about you?
Raider Leader: Ohh, you know, just going to murder half of them, kidnap the survivors, maybe abandon a few crippled and alone to die horribly.
Visitor Leader: Well in that case After You.
Raider Leader: Ohh no. After you. I insist.

They all poured in, the visitors move in around my defensive positions while the raiders attacked my turrets. Then the visitors turned on me, probably sparked off by an exploding turret or a stray bullet and since they had moved in behind my peoples defensive line they gunned down half my colony in their first round of fire before finishing off my entire colony with absolutely no way for me to stop it.
Every single colonist died.
Every single blasted one.
God dame them all.
How many colonies do I have to lose to my allies?

Plants illuminated by a sun lamp should grow 24 hours a day. Alternatively sun lamps shouldn't use power at night.
It just seems silly to me that plants that are growing inside a mountain are still effected by the day/night cycle despite never seeing the sun while you have to provide crazy amounts of power to keep a sun lamp running 24 hours a day.

I must say that the new combat system seems to make it a lot easier to protect your base once you have 12 colonist in power armour and miniguns. Especially when they can hide behind steel walls and sandbags while raiders squeezing through that 1 tile wide gap in your wall which is packed with sandbags and contains a tight turn forcing them into close range with no cover no matter what sort of weapon they have and making the 10+ turrets just inside the wall just that little bit more helpful too.
So far this has been one of my most easily protected colonies and I didn't even need to use turrets as bombs.
I just hate my allies and want them all to die horribly. Get the heck out of my base you freeloading illegitimate progeny of whatever the local equivalent of a canine female is!

I had visitors to my colony when it was really small. I only had 5 people and 1 captive enemy, so naturally there were about 30 of my allies people visiting and they went right into the middle of it. 5 of them breaking off from the main group and heading into my prison where upon they set upon the only guy in there starting to beat him to death.
Sadly I hadn't stripped him and he was good at close combat. He took 2 of the 5 down before falling himself and the other 3 turned around walked out of the room and then they all started to go crazy.
This triggered crossfire where all the people in the room would suddenly turn on one person and blow them to bits. Sadly this happened in the middle of my base and my farmer took a stray bullet. BOOM, off goes his right leg and he's down. I send in the nearest colonist to rescue him, my doctor. BOOM. my doctor looses his left leg X.x
I am left with 3 workable colonists and no idea how to deal with my guests when all of a sudden BOOM. my mortars explode... That solved the guest problem and wiped out my front wall. It also caused their faction to turn on me X.x
So after they killed my prisoner, permanently crippled 2 of my colonists and destroyed my mortars and ripped a huge hole in my exterior wall the buggered declare war on me...
There are no words to describe how much I hate my allies.

Mutually exclusive traits on the same colonist are always fun...
I can't recall the exact names and they are probably gone with the new alpha build but they were along the lines of
Sexually inexperienced

I think the sheer value of the weapons they tend to leave scattered about more than pays for the food that they take.

Then you can sell the weapons for silver, then use the silver to get more allies and call them in when you're attacked, which gives you more weapons, rinse and repeat. ;D

My tiny little colony of 10 got invaded by dozens of them at once from each of my allies and they hung around long enough to start going crazy. The shear volume of stray fire as they killed off their own destroyed chunks of my walls, put 2 of my colonists out of action and left bodies clogging up the main tunnel in and out of my base meaning every one of my people had massive penalties not only going hungry, but also for seeing corpses, the hideous environment and being wounded and then the next raid happens...
My allies nearly drove my entire colony to breaking point in one visit ;.;
And they just keep coming X.x
Next time I want to pretend we're not home or put a lockable door on my mess hall >.>

They mostly come at night. Mostly.

Is it just me or are allies more dangerous than the raiders?
Raiders have to work to get into your base and you can chase them off. Allies on the other hand just walk in, eat every scrap of food, go nuts, shoot up the place and each other, put two of your colonists out of action, then feck off leave dead bodies strewn about your main corridor to drive your surviving colonists to despair and a few dozen aimlessly wandering nutters who will hang about your turrets waiting for the first Mechanoid raid to detonate the turret catching one of the gormless ditzes in the blast causing their entire faction to become hostile and immediately launch a siege before you have even finished dealing with the Mechanoid...
or maybe that is just my bad luck. >.>
