For some reason food isn't being frozen, with AC set to 26 Degrees, what could be going wrong?

rtiger

Would help if we could see the entire image...

MeatHaven

All the information is there, if your running on a smaller resolution the image will have scroll bar at the bottom of it.

What's the temperature of the room? Are you trying to freeze that entire dinning hall with just one cooler? That's not enough, you'll need more.

And every time you open the door the temperature will try to equalize. You'll need to build airlocks to keep the heat out.

Found your problem, set the AC to about -3 degrees.

MeatHaven

Ah I see, It's switching between 44 and 45, though I've had bigger rooms like this and they froze simply enough with only one cooler, I shall place more however.

TheSilencedScream

Yeah, your issues are that:
1.) You have several doors going outside that will be opened often, releasing a lot of cool air.
2.) It's a rather large room for one cooler.
3.) Combining the first two, your one cooler is set at way too high of a temperature to keep the entire room regulated.

It'd be better (in my opinion) to have an attached room JUST for refrigerating, and have it only have one door, connected directly to the room (not outside).

is the sledgehammer compatible with the romance mod?
Only in Rimworld.

Do you have the temperature measurements set to Fahrenheit? By default they are Celsius, and 26C is quite warm.

Where do you come from? Siberia? Anything less then 30 is nothing. Hell, anything less then 35 is fine by me.

hector212121

Uh. Celsius to farenheit is times 1.8 and then plus 32. So that's around 80 farenheit.

26 degrees Celsius IS quite warm, and Siberia has an extreme land-climate meaning it's summers are usually very warm like 35 degrees Celsius.

Which is something I'd like to see in this game anyway, land and martime climates.

Why are you cooling your kitchen/dining room ? Why not the food storage ?

skullywag

Some people cool both for efficiency, less travelling for the cook and the meals he produces are also frozen. I know of a lot of people that put the stove in their freezer.
Skullywag modded to death.
I'd never met an iterator I liked....until Zhentar saved me.
Why Unity5, WHY do you forsake me?

Honestly, I'd love to see what these people do to see why they're in need of that much efficiency over the sake of it looking odd that the stove and freezer are in the same space. Even if you have a lot of colonists, that just makes it easier to spare a second to help cook.

And, short of that, Igabod has a Bulk Meals mod that allows for cooking several meals at a time.

To each their own, of course, but that's just my viewpoint. ^^

I setup mine like so, the heat is vented into a cave from the ac and the cooks have to travel very little to get resources and deliver food. I do have a larger food storage closer to my fields as well.
