Basically, a article of clothing that you can force prisoners to wear that makes them incapable of self-feeding, reduces comfort and space to 0, but makes them incapable of all motion.

Prisoners having a rough time? Prevent mental breaks with the new Straitjacket!(tm)

Okay sounds like it would subdue them one theyre going nuts, but with all the negative effects on top of the maniac thoughts how are you supposed to ever get them to calm down

Mikhail Reign

Or just cut their legs off....

How about simply giving hospital beds the capacity to strap a patient in? Most modern hospital beds do have that capability.

This would be neat, although I don't think it should necessarily prevent all mental breaks, just prevent the Berserk state.  Wandering around Dazed while restrained should be pretty OK.  If it worked exactly as you're describing then as soon as you removed it from a prisoner they'd break immediately.

Wouldn't mind this either, or a "sedate patient" option.

Vaperius

Frankly Sedation and Restraint should be options for prisoners. If you have no intention of using recruiting them;but instead want to harvest them slowly for parts; you can lock them down in a room and feed them until you need the organs after a raid...

Oh and also if you have an exceptionally dangerous prisoner and you don't mind keeping him locked down while you trying to recruit him ...
I remain Vigilant.

You can already achieve this in a way. Just schedule an operation for the prisoner and cancel it once he's been anesthetized. This also works on colonists. Works great for those people who you just 'know' are going to break soon and you want to avoid it. Chances are they'll probably be feed while they are in bed, and with a pretty hospital they probably come out of it feeling better.

Kaballah

That's a good idea but it would be nice if it was simply a thing you could do, minus the clunk.

Mikhail Reign

Oh yeah obviously - I was merely pointing that for those that  wanted to do that, there was a functional work around, that had a end result that was useable.

Also, it does kind of semi-permanently cripple the prisoner. Maybe you just don't have time for recruiting.

You are forgetting about "convinced by warden" you could put this on them before they break and then take it off once convinced by warden is high enough they wont break

Kaballah

Well there's the other point that real world straightjackets do not actually prevent you from going insane, they just prevent you from hurting yourself and/or others when you do.
