Reverse allowed areas. I'd love to be able to tell some of my colonists that some rooms, you simply never enter.

For instance I don't want colonists wandering in an area with a lot of corpses, I got a guy with nerves of steel to clean up first. But I still want my colonist to freely roam everywhere else. If I could, I'd restrict the more sensitive colonists to that area until it is cleaned up.

Or I have two chefs, the best cook is also an excellent crafter. I want my best cook to do all the butchering, but I also want him to do crafting whenever available. I'd restrict my butcher to stand in front of the cooking stove. That way he would not be able to do all tasks on the cooking priority, jumping down the list to start crafting tasks.

This is already possible though- by allowing 1/3++ of the map, but not allowing certain areas. I do this today and it works like a charm, my butcher only butchers and my cook prepares all the meals. But it is tedious work to allow 1/3 of the map when I could simply be disallowing one room instead.

There is an inverse toggle on allowed areas though, isn't there?

I had to look around and I figured out what you spoke off. I'm going to fool around with this, might be exactly what we want.

Aright so I figured out what he meant and fooled around with it.

To restrict an area in an easier fashion:
First make your area "allowed."
Then go to overview > restrictions > find your area in the list and choose "invert"
Now the area allows free roaming, except the area you allowed.

It is not an elegant solution, but it is better than the workaround. I guess it has been weighed up against how many "interface orders" we really want. 3-4 orders only for restricting areas might bee to much, and lost to the invert function we have now.
