Melee and stacking

You carve narrow paths, trying to funnel the enemy into managable numbers. Your power armored warrior stands ready, plasteel gladius in hand.

Then the tribal horde merges into one pawn in defiance of Newtonian Physics, and a hundred clubs strikes as one.

Frustrating.

Manhunter squirrels does the same thing. Leading to awkward moments where your elite colonists are taken down one by one by biting swarms. As does slashers. Not sure if its some limitation with the engine or what.

Can we maybe have some pathing rule fixes, so that the melee combatant requires a open space adjacent to his target, or some RoF malus to melee if you share a tile with another pawn?
The former would be neater and lead to more tactical thinking around melee combat.

I'd like to see some sort of limitation to pawns stacking infinitely into single tiles, as well.  It's a bit ridiculous when the 40-strong pirate shank squad (Melee/shield users) can attack my plasteel autodoor in unison, destroying it in seconds...  Even if there's only one or two adjacent spaces.

Just saw the Alpha 14 trailer notes. And I know this might break a forum rule regarding old threads but it has to be said.

Thank you, Tynan. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you.
