Love the people playing the game it so much fun but when I downloaded it, it seems it cannot fit my screen. My screen resolution is 1024 x 600. Is there a way to make it fit? I can't even start a colony.

After you boot the game, press Alt+Enter.
This will Full Screen the application and should scale it for you.

[EDIT]
I tested this in 800x600 and the game played great.

It needs 768 vertical resolution to display all the menus properly. The minimum res is 1024x768.

Thanks for the reply. I'll just play the game in another computer

It'll never run in this extremely small vertical resolution; doing so would require designing all the menus to fit that, sacrificing space at all other resolutions. I'd bet that very, very few people are trying to play the game under 1024x768.

tynan, I have seen several NEW laptops that my customers have bought with 15.6 inch screens and win8 that have only a 768 line screen res, and I find them frustrating as the taskbar hides the buttons on the bottom of the install dialogs for most software (the brands that I remember are toshiba, dell, lenovo, sony, hp), so it might be worth while to see if it is only a small adjustment or not for 768 res.

768 tall will run it fine; that's the minimum vertical resolution. I don't think they sell anything less than that any more, do that? Even my cellphone is 1920x1080 now...

Most 10 inch netbooks come packing 1024x600 displays.

Granted 720p capable displays are on the rise but i'm typing this on a 1024x600 display after googling for my problem i'm somewhat regretting dropping $30 on a game I thought would be perfect for playing when on my long train commute each morning.

Don't suppose there is a way of hacking it to work in some fashion to suit the lower res display, a third party mod/skin perhaps?

I'm also on a 1024x600 netbook. I can understand why you wouldn't intend to support this resolution, but unless I missed something it doesn't appear you list minimum system requirements anywhere on the game's page. I'll have to think about whether I want a refund.

PS: Yeah, there might be 1080 phones, but if I were in the market for one of those, I wouldn't have been in the market for a game as modest as Rimworld to begin with.

Could always have an option to check in the game that sets it in a small vertical mode. I know aurora 4x does this to some extent (an older game that basically requires a 900vertical screen. You can play on a 768 though with that mode, but several of the menus are scrunched. And buttons moved to other menus)

As modest?  I am a skilled salesman of human leather, and fine human leather goods.
Your modesty has no power over me.

I know it's not the most graceful of solutions, but perhaps a button in options (Should be able to access it on awkward screens) or a file that launches the game with an alternate UI designed to work on 600~ish screens.

I'm honestly surprised to be hearing of screens screens below 768, I haven't seen a 600 since about 2004. (11 years) Even my old notebook (Got it 2009) was running at 1200 x 768, and that thing was at least a year old when I got it.

It seems that a minimum systems requirements is in order, even if it can run on a majority of systems, it seems that more than a handful of people are running into this or similar issues.

Alot of games I play have a UI scale option that simply scales all the UI elements up or down so this kind of thing is a non issue.  It may not look ideal on anything other than 100%, but its better than not being able to play.

Hi - apologies if it's bad form to necro this thread, but I came to it while Googling for the very same problem. Disappointed to learn the game won't work with my smaller laptop, which I use for (frequent) long commutes. This is the first game with which I've encountered this problem. Does anyone have a fix? Thanks! Fantastic game in every other way!
