Can you Dev mode away health problems or change game files to do so?

Made a thread earlier about a issue with bs infection situation. I always roll with the punches with this game but not when it's blatantly being a ass about things.

So is there a way to Dev mode away medical problems or modify game files in notepad to do it?

Many thanks

You can use dev mode, Namely "Apply damage" > "Restore body part" > Body part, Torso will heal all.
Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to remove infections or diseases as they don't correlate to a body part. :/

Can you tell me how you managed it? I have quite a few colonists that have 1-3 extremities (toes, fingers etc.) shot/bitten off, and I'd rather not use a prosthetic/bionic limb just for a missing toe.

I don't know if its just bad luck, but my limb loss has been heavily increased from the last few alpha's.

Edit: irrelevant due to Coenmcj's post.

Fruit loops, my method should help with that. :)
But It'd be great if someone knew how to do the infections/diseases and such, I swear the restore body part function used to do infections and malaria, but not so much anymore. :/

In game go to options. Open game saves. Find the save you want to use. Open it in notepad. Search the name of the colonist you want to heal. Scroll down till you get to a section of (heddiffs)

Everything between the two main heddiff sections delete. That'll cure your colonist. Just did it myself.

If anyone knows how to remove 'incapacitated' from someone is hugely appreciate it.

It depends on what they're incapacitated by, if it's missing legs the dev mod damage>restore body part code will fix them nicely, if it's from exceptional pain curing the damaged body part with the dev console should solve the problem.

And how do you cure using the Dev mode? Thanks for the first bit very helpful.

Rimworld saves games as a *text file* ???!!!

Well no wonder it takes so long to load a save, heh.

BTW, it's "hediff" in hediffSet.  Spelling matters when you're running a search on a 4MB text file. :-P

Anyway, thanks for the info, now I know where to go if my colonists punch each other in the eyes too much for me to handle.
If you give an annoying colonist a parka before banishing him to the ice sheet you'll only get a -3 penalty instead of -5.

And don't forget that the pirates chasing a refugee are often better recruits than the refugee is.

I figured out a way to stop diseases from being lethal. go to dev mode, and in one of the boxes, there is a ton of 'disable x' 'unlimited y'  'no z's' etc.

one of the options is to disable player damage, switch that off until the pawn has developed immunity.

No problem man. I would've explained it much better than I did however it was 3am in the morning and I was half dead from looking through notepad xD

Worked out how to sort them out if you clear heddiffs and they stay incapacitated. Just go into Dev mode. Wound them and they jump straight out of bed good as new. Then heal them in Dev mode and your good to go.
