Basically, here's my idea. Each hostile faction sends raids at intervals determined by when they can amass a army three(or more) times the size of the one they'll actually send. Tribals perhaps should send smaller BUT more frequent raids due to quick repopulation and cheap gear, while high-tech factions like pirates would be rarer(assuming you have a wealthy/powerful settlement) but hit you harder.

Also, perhaps judge minimum raid size by weapon and turret value rather than overall colony value, but then make it so that the raid FREQUENCY is determined by overall colony value?

the issue is that right now, the storyteller determines what raids you get, so this wouldn't really work out with cassandra. would be a nice feature for randy tho. also, the population of the factions should be way higher, because otherwise it would take decades to get up to enough population for a new raid.

You could always have the storyteller determine how quickly their economy and population bounces back.

yes, but unless you're going for a "just throw something completely random at the player" approach, that's just wasted calculations.

False.

It means you have reasons to make sure as few enemies as possible make it back, and not just loot related ones.

It also means that you can't just repeatedly gift 300 silver to a friendly fac to get more military assistance.
