Storage, especially cold storage

DF and Gnomoria players already know what I'm talking about.  Barrels, bins, crates, what-have-you.  Wardrobes for clothes, racks for weapons. I know that some items already stack, and I appreciate it, but some other things that should be able to fit together still don't.

Refrigerators / freezers that don't lower the entire room's temperature, and just hold stacks of prepared meals (or at least directly-edible stuffs, clearly not whole muffalo corpses).  Something so that I only need one walk-in freezer, and my other out-buildings and lunchrooms can hold food without having to worry AND the less cold-protected colonists don't have to freeze to pick up their food.

EDIT:  I was sure someone must have already suggested this, but search didn't find anything until AFTER I had posted T_T previous thread https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=11661.msg117929#msg117929

Shelves that could store 3x the materials (Since most items usually come in the form of crates in this game) on one tile could be neat.

I created an account here really to just suggest this as well.

Drives me a bit nuts that everything is lying on the ground. Storage chests to help stack things and have their own "stockpile" settings would be perfect. This would also allow us to keep chests of certain items near the appropriately workbenches.
I have seen a few mods for this, but the ones I try seemed broken and honestly this should be in the base game.

I would take it a step further: Let us have a refrigerator for dining halls.
This will allow us to still have large walk in freezers for raw food/bulk storage but gives have a spot for us to store prepped meals within reach for daily life.
Drives me nuts people walking in the freezer rooms constantly messing up the temperature to get their daily meals.

Skullywag modded to death.
I'd never met an iterator I liked....until Zhentar saved me.
Why Unity5, WHY do you forsake me?

Hm, there could be different storages with different temperatures. For instance, there could be a Deep Storage(which is literally a hole in the ground) with decent storage capacity and mild temperature reduction due to lack of direct sunlight ever.
