How Do I Use Hydroponics?

I guess my question is does hydroponics work yet?  If to, how does it work?  Yes, I have tables built inside.  Yes, I have sun lamps built.  What's next?

If you have everything built and your hydroponics basins are on a 'brightly lit' set of tiles (you can hover the mouse over a tile and see its lighting status in the lower left of the screen), then all you need is to set a worker to prioritize growing and he/she will get to work automatically (on their own time xD).

If you want a worker to start hydroponics planting immediately, you can select the worker and right click the hydroponics basin and choose "prioritize growing" or something like that.

I discovered that any growers will prioritize outdoor growing zones over hydroponics.  Is there a way to change that other than deleting outdoor growing zones?
