I've been playing for a while now and I've got pretty big problem. I stumbled onto a nest of megaspiders and I just sort of sealed it off and figured I'd take care of it later, not really realizing how bad it would get. Well, now I have this to deal with, and I don't know what to do. Please, I really need help, I think I ballsed my favorite colony and I really don't want to loose this.

Fire. Lots of fire.

Incendiary mortar would do wonders if it isn't all overhead mountain above it.

The MacChen

yep if you don't have an incendiary mortar to light them up, then have a guy with an incendiary launcher creep around the corner and toast them. As long as one (or maybe two) hives are on fire or will catch on fire, it is usually enough to burn down most of the hive. Or wait until winter. The hives will die and then after the insects finish all their honey, they will starve and eat their own dead. They will also begin wandering around the map, slowly spreading out so you will be able to pick them off one by one if you want to play the long game.

You don't even need all that, one pawn with a Molotov and you're done

Mutineer

There less drastic solution. Bugs do not go to far away from nests. So, position your colonists reasonable far away and use longest range to catch there attention. Then retreat until bugs stop follow. Now you know distance, you can put your colonists around there and use one with longest range to bring them into range of everyone. This way you can gradually kill them and use death for feed. as you kill more and more nests they will spam more slowly. You can do it.

A Friend

Build incendiary traps beside the hives when they're sleeping. GG no re.

Don't worry, they only wake up when you attack them. If you're feeling indiana jonesy, you could just let the bugs be and steal the jelly when they're asleep.

Incendiary mortar didn't work. I'd tried it before, and too much of them are under the mountain, not to mention I started a forest fire and almost killed everyone. I also tried drawing them away one by one, but in all honesty they just spawn quicker than I can kill them that way. I think incendiary rocket launcher is next. Let's just hope they don't miss...

As said when they are out in the open like that a sniper rifle has a great range than their aggro range. You can just kill them without them caring. Takes a while though.

Burning the hives is generally a great idea though as that stops them from multiplying

I see a lot of bodies.  My guess is that raiders and visitors have been wandering in and getting eaten? :)

But fire really looks like the way to go.  I see lots of flammable stuff lying around, so it should spread and consume the whole hive.  If you're concerned about the rest of the map burning down you could build stone walls around the hive to trap everything inside.  (Build far enough out that the bugs don't attack you)
If you give an annoying colonist a parka before banishing him to the ice sheet you'll only get a -3 penalty instead of -5.

And don't forget that the pirates chasing a refugee are often better recruits than the refugee is.
