While playing this game, I've found it's very awkward to go up in building techs. I might make this lovely base of wood, and that's cool and all, but if I have metal I'd like the option to upgrade it. I don't really like tearing down the entire base, and then having my colonists rebuild it from the ground up.

Hopefully other people can relate to my frustration of "Well now we have to redo it."

Well, its realistic. I don't mind it because I tear it down section by section, over a few days.

Makes it easier and allows me time to expand if I feel like it.

TheClassiness

Very true, it's realistic, but if they had an option for it or something it'd be appreciated, since tearing down little bits at a time is quite annoying to do. I dunno, opinions.

I would rather a more elaborate game than a game that holds your hand...

Please do more useful things with your time than making everything overly convenient master game creator.

Exactly why I said make it an option, at least then you don't have it if you don't want it.

I would prefer the option to REALLY "upgrade" your walls, not REPLACE them with some other wall, but add some "improvements" to them like you would do it in reallife to an existing wall. Example: Add metal straps and panes to make wood/stone walls more sturdy etc.

Maybe Tynan could include a function wich would allow you to "exchange" walls: You have Wood walls but you want Stone/Metal walls, so you select the building command for the wanted wall and "overplan" the existing walls with the new ones. Then your colonists start their work of tearing the old wall down and replace it with the new wall (colonist takes the materials needed, goes to the wall, deconstructs the wall and instantly starts building the new wall). I don't like the concept of "upgrading" stuff via just an click and TADA! you instantly have the upgraded version, you ppl should put at least some work into it... I think I have the habit of OVERexplaining my points... :P

I keep the wood walls, they are just so much nicer to look at :3
