Laggy/FPS drop issue

  Hi guys, i have an issue with the game lately, but first: i am no a native English speaker so please ignore any mistakes i make (i would appreciate if you correct them tho)
for the problem: i have been playing the 1.0 version for while now, and i worked really smooth with almost no problem, but yesterday the game from nowhere the game started being laggy as hell. last thing i remember doing was changing the colony number from 1 to 5, but i did restore it as it was instantly.
  For mods i use lot of mods ( 137 to be precise), the game was working just fine with all of them until yesterday
  For my pc specs: CPU: i5 3340, 6GB RAM and 9500gt GPU
oh and i have been getting an error message when i start the game, i ignored it since the game was working fine but it seems like it was a bad idea.
