Main RW Discord server has been getting a moderate amount of reports that the mod menu itself will experience massive consistent slowdown if -any- mods whatsoever are enabled and the game is reloaded after. No saves of current game version needed or used.
Couldn't find anything on Google so figured I'd mention.

Log of short modlist from my own setup as an example, after loading Rimworld for the second time since update to 1.1 (and having unsubbed to everything for a clean slate, then subbing to mods that were actually updated for current version), adding mods, then restarting from mod menu option:

After a full restart from desktop:

Bunch of the modders are saying they think it's a vanilla issue, I'm not a coder so I have no idea; but given that I am a troubleshooter and we got flooded with these, would be nice to know if it's not just crazy random happenstance or something. Seems to happen regardless of mods enabled or UI effects in place.

This is the first report I've seen of it.

What are the repro steps? Is it just
1. Subscribe to a mod in the Steam build
2. Restart game
3. Open Mod screen from main menu
4. Observe massive slowdown

?

I've had this issue in 1.0 as well. On the main menu its 60fps constant and when on the mod menu it immediately drops to 16fps and goes as low as 12 when scrolling down.

Hey, for me it happens once I get past around 50 mods. It's dependent on how many mods I have activated at once. So I can go into the mod list with only core activated and it'll be fine, but as I activate more and more mods past 50 it starts slowing down (ie. Buttons take longer to register whether the mouse is over them, menu takes longer to react when I click, scrolling is worse). It gets worse the more I activate.

Add enabling the mod and restarting after, but yes.

Also getting this issue, seems to be based on how many mods you have marked as enabled, the more you have enabled (without having to restart, in my experience at least) the slower the UI gets.

I noticed this yesterday, too, and I only have 8 enabled...but my subscribed list is ...extensive.  Is it possible it's a lot of disk/network access, which might make things slower for some people than for others?  I have an SSD...but I was on a slow network yesterday?  Anyway.

Sounds like a simple optimization issue for huge lists, we should be able to address this.

Should be improved a lot by the next build (although there's still room to do better). Thanks for reporting!
