jzero

no, it isn't automatic. I pretty much forgot how to do it but i'm sure some smart person will come along in a moment or two to explain it. (and a belated welcome to the forums!)

Assuming your email address is valid, SendOwl fires you an email notifying you of your download link, when a new version comes out (or at least it should, based on all previous Alphas).

You can also save previous emails, and reuse the download link.
IIRC, it goes to the same place and they just reset the download count and change the files available.

When any new version is released you will receive an email from SendOwl containing your personal download link. It can take several hours for that email to arrive after the initial release of that version. If you've got a previous email, use that link instead if your download link hasn't arrived after a new version is released, as that link will allow you to download the updated version. (We recommend bookmarking this link, as it is unique to you and will never change between updates.)

Once you've got the new version, just unzip it like you did the previous version and you can play it. Don't overwrite an old version with a new version as some files from the old version won't get overwritten, and will cause problems.

Also saves are rarely compatible between versions so just finish your run in the previous alpha before starting a new one in 13.

Mods are the same way, so wait a week or two for the authors to make whatever changes are required.
