Linux version crashes when trying to render worldmap

Hey guys,

I'm using the linux version of the game and it works fine (awesome work!) until you try to view the worldmap.
As soon as the worldmap needs to be rendered the game crashes without an error message.
I'm running the game from console (as it instantly closes when started from steam) and this happens both when running the game as-is and when running it with forced opengl.
Crashes occur no matter where you try to view a wordmap - either ingame (using the button) or when trying to start a new colony (it crashes after generating the world, when you have to select where you want to settle)

EDIT: I just discovered when starting the 64 bit game executable directly from the terminal and when using -force-opengl then the game does not crash. It sometimes doesn't render maps at all, sometimes it works just fine. This *only* works when launching the 64bit executable with forced opengl directly. It doesn't work without forcing opengl and it does not work when launching using either of the two shell scripts.
Just don't ask me why ;)

Unfortunately it seems like there's no Player.log file anywhere to be found. I'll upload the log from /tmp but I've skimmed it and it doesn't seem to contain anything helpful, at least for my untrained eyes ;)

Hope this helps and you can reproduce the issue. In case you can't just email me, I'm here to help.

best regards,
Jan
