I've been attempting to increase goodwill with other factions by sending gifts via drop pods. Apparently they just want to take all the "good" and "excellent" things my crafters take their time to make and give me a measly +18 rating.

It seems like it's been harder in the last couple of updates but this is just my observation, I don't know for sure since we aren't getting patchnotes anymore.

You can send prisoners (Wait for them to heal up), and tamed animals, but mostly it's just more value is more rep, so produce expensive stuff.

Flake. Accessible very early. Easy to grow and craft. Very light. Pretty valuable. Most reasonable way to make money or reputation.

PS Also take a very little storage space compared to apparel. (14x150=2100 value of silver per tile)

Ive not used drop pods, but Ive been gifting Smokeleaf to every trader that stops by. I dunno about "quick" but between that and patching up and releasing their attackers Ive got every faction except the actual pirates at least at neutral status. The savage tribes are the hardest, as they seem the least likely to send traders my way. But Smoke leaf is easy to grow and doesn't require much to produce. In my experience(with visiting traders) 20 joints gets ~5 rep.

They just want straight up cash value for the items you gift them.  I usually just gift them a stack of thrumbofur or flake for what usually ends up being +100 relation.  Rimworld vanilla's economics is weird:  Crafting apparel will just lower the equivalent material's gifting value.
