What's going on? Why are there two development versions?

There's a 0.19 and 1.0 mod category on Steam. This is so confusing.

They jumped from 0.18 to 1.0 but 1.0 wasn't actually the release, it was just kind of a release candidate. Which is exactly what 0.x builds are for, so they decided 1.0 was not accurate and changed the number to 0.19.

Many mods came out for 1.0 when it was 1.0, and some of those mods have not bothered changing yet. The vast majority of them still work. None of them will fail "because they are for 1.0" but some will fail for the reason mods tend to fail: updates in the code has caused them to not work properly.

tl;dr

Use 0.19 and whatever mods you want. If a mod doesn't work, don't use it until the modder has updated it.

I never got how pawns in the game could have such insanely bad reactions to such mundane things.
Then I came to the forums.

Eesh. It really would've been better just to roll with it by sticking an 'a' or 'u' at the end or something.

While I agree, I much prefer "0.19" for an obvious beta build getting updates on a sub-weekly basis.

Sure, but if you've been using 1.0 for like a month and there's already over a hundred mods using that version scheme...

eh.

Plus it means that Workshop, which lists the versions in numerical order, has 0.19 before 1.0, but 0.19 mods are going to be newer than 1.0 mods until release. lol

Oh you don't need to convince me :D I'm merely explaining how it is.
