Question on turrets..

Ive just updated to Rimworld 0.19 and I reinstalled the game just in case, I've tested some of my turret mods and realized there was forced minimum range of 3x3 on all of my turrets. I tried using other turret mods but the 3x3 min range was still there. Is there anybody else experiencing this issue?

I didn't know it was forced in the code but every ranged weapon in the game can't be used point blank anymore, including the one turret with no listed minimum range.

I never got how pawns in the game could have such insanely bad reactions to such mundane things.

Just place spike traps in front of turrets if you're afraid melee fighters will clonk them.

minimal range come from internal "weapon" and not cannon itself.

I know, I tried adding minimum range of zero, or even removing it entirely from the "gun" part of turrets but they didn't work. the primary reason why im bothered by this is because I cant make 2x2 turrets anymore - since they are forced to occupy the upper right side of the 3x3 foced minimum range.

How do the stock 2x2 turrets do it? Couldn't you override the forced minimum with a (small) minimum range of your own? I'm thinking a 4x4 square around them to keep with the theme of no-melee-range-shooting in the game.

In B18 2x2 turrets had a range that spread out from its center point and adjusted to the even numbers. What I mean by this is that if the turret was sized by an even number the poles of the outer ring of its range were also even. In B19 its forced to be odd, so ranges for 2x2 or even 4x4 turrets are not attached to the center and slightly off to the upper right. Ive tested this on a fresh vanilla reinstall of Rimworld B19's autocannons and uranium slug turrets. They have fixed minimum ranges of 3x3.
