When I use the moisture pump to change marsh into soil, I cannot build solar and wind power generators on the newly created soil. I am able to build almost everything else I've tried otherwise.

1) is there enough (newly made) room for your estimated building ?
2) afaik the pump is not very fast - just wait a few more days.
3) posting a savegame with a specific area that has this problem will help the devs to look into this (possible) bug.

The pump is still working and expanding, but there is already some land visible, and I can build anything else on that land already, just not the solar or wind generators on the area of land that has already been converted.

I have a savegame but it is a large map so the size is bigger than this forum allows (600k)

zip/rar it, and if it's still too big, then upload & share it via dropbox or something similar

@pete72 - Can you please post a save file where you are experiencing this problem because others are unable to reproduce it.

Like 14m1337 said, if you use a utility such as 7zip or WinRAR to compress the safe file then you might be able to shrink it enough to post it as an attachment. If not, then you can use a cloud storage service such as Dropbox or GoogleDrive to host the file and then post the download link (or a file sharing service such as Mega or Zippyhare if those are preferable).
