Colony Never Names

I have run into this issue twice. The first time, I didn't report it, because it was a fluke. It happens on a full vanilla version of the game as well.

Anyway, even "months" after starting a new game, sometimes it will never prompt me to name the colony. Every attempt to save will also default to "New Colony #n", and that number will just go up every time I save. It's a pain to manually do this dozens of times.

Is there any way to force the "name your colony" event?

This is a known bug in A17b, and is caused by there being an ancient shrine on the map with mechs in it. A lot more detail on this bug can be found in the main bug thread for this https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=33345.0 .

You can force the naming event to fire by turning on dev mode>opening the debug actions menu>and click the "Name Colony..." option that's the 10th option under the Actions - Misc menu on the left of the available options. (if you can't find it easily, type "name" into the input box in the top left and it should clearly highlight where the option is).

I'll close this now as this is a known issue. Thanks for reporting it though, and if you have any further questions/insights on this bug, then please post them in the main thread for this bug (that I linked).
