My statue garden is a camel trap

My colony is coming along nicely, and the apple of it's eye is the glorious statue garden that my workshops surround. It keeps everyone smiling as they chip away at rocks or smelt slag.

I've just come off the back of a volcanic winter AND a toxic fallout event right after each other, so i've had little time to farm or to hunt, and animals are seldom in deserts as things are. Imagine my surprise when a camel turns up and walks, literally, right into my kitchen. She stood looking over my cook's shoulder as if to say, "Hey, how come you're just making simple meals? Can't find any meat out here? That's a shame." Then she plodded off to happily much on my daylilies. She stayed for a day, content to wander between the kitchen and the metalshop before my hunter stuck her with his greatbow.



Now she's part of a stack of lavish rice and camel meat meals.
