Character age.

If somone could help me out with this it would be much appreciated. What determines a characters age? It looks like skills? but I'm confused.

I believe it's random, but i'm not knowledgeable in this area so before you take my word I'd wait for some one to confirm this.

Thanks you're probably right. My theory is that age is determined my name for example (please take this with a grain of fingernail grindings though).

Probably not, I was cycling through characters a moment ago and looking for my name in game, and got both an age in the 70's and an age in the 40's, despite it being the same name. I might also be missing something simple here, but what is the math behind the age/numbers thing? I'm reading over it and can't make heads or tails of it.
