Title. They don't want to go to the medical bed so is it just something that gives them a negative mood status for a while?

Thanks!

Yes, it's only temporary and not dangerous.

Low cooking skill means higher chance to make poisoned food.

I'm afraid the only way to improve the situation is by prioritizing cleaning to avoid chances of other colonists being upset about seeing poisoned dude's vomit :D

It is just a trivial injury at the moment. It affects consciousness, and goes in about a day or so. It also causes vomit. The only way to stop it is to get a better skilled cook to reduce risk of accidental food poisoning.
Only in RimWorld is the phrase "31 Heavily-Armed Siegers are currently bombing your base" preferable to "50 manhunting squirrels are attacking your colony"

Spectre

Out of interest does the cleanliness of the kitchen have any effect on the chances on getting food poisoning? Or is it purely the cook's skill.

I believe not.

Welp I've just wasted a ton of silver making my kitchen sterile. Ahh well, maybe it's something Tynan could think about adding in the future, I mean it does make sense.

It makes sense to you having a sterile kitchen?!? Do you realize in fact, the food you normally eat is not sterile? Also, stomach acid does a pretty good job on killing a moltitude of bacteria.
Sorry if this comes a bit rough, but I guess you don't even cook, do you?  ???

I'm not sure if you're being serious or not. Having a clean kitchen stops food becoming contaminated by bacteria and is the reason here in the UK most restaurants have an dependent food hygiene rating.

Maybe I'm completely wrong but when I prepare food in my kitchen I make sure the utensils I use are clean and so are the surfaces I use to prepare food on. I think it's odd that this is even up for debate.

The point was not cleanliness. The point was STERILITY. 1 possibility on a million to find a single microbe on your food. Tha't would be sterile food. Or a sterile kitchen. It's simply ridicolous.

I meant a sterile environment for food preparation.

I never saw anyone getting food posioning by anything else than simple meals, even raw meat(though now its 5%/meat not 10%) or nutritient paste is better than that.

There is NOT a sterile environment anywhere for food preparation in real life. There are clean environments.

The sterile tiles, being made of (presumably antimicrobal) silver, are probably cleaner than regular tiles. that's probably what he meant.
