Sub Menus or Menu Tree for Workbenches

I am dealing with the Storage Crates mod and adding the rest of the items will likely push the menu off the screen. Would like to make it neat and tidy with a mouse-over category selection type menu.

Is there a function existing already I can use? I have poked around at a few mods and not seen anything of the sort. I could just split the items up over multiple workbenches, or condense the list of items supported but I would like to avoid that if at all possible.

Is there a limit to where if I go so far with the menu it will be scroll-able automatically? I can test that soon next I get some free time to start adding in everything but a heads up would be welcome.
