Hey there!

Love the game btw, but I just downloaded the new version a few days ago and decided to unzip it today to play!
I deleted my old version and folders I had previously and unzipped the new one...I could generate world and save, but the button for new colony never appeared.

I looked in my games folder for worlds and could see it saved in a odd formart...like this "rasAldahafera.rww.new", which the game would not accept. I decided to get the older version unzipped and could see it saved in this format "GarnetCapella.rww", which in the new version of the game could see but was not happy about loading since an older version generated it.

The workaround is simply to modify the name of the world generate by the newest version to "rasAldahafera.rww" and voila! I could see it and select it as I should. Just wanted to let you know this happened and if you want any info let me know, since I would love to help solve this weird issue.

I got windows 10,

If there is any savefile with ".new" extension then it means that there was an error during saving the world file.

Does it still happen when you try to create a new world? If so, could you please upload the logfile? (it's called "output_log.txt")

I'm going to jump on this thread to report having the same issue. I have windows 10 also. Every world file and save file the game generates has.new appended on the end (world.rww.new or save.rws.new) Once I manually delete the .new the game recognizes them just fine and everything seems to work normally. But of course it would be nice to not have to do this manually every time I want to fire up the game. I'm attaching my log file in case it can help.

Thanks for the logfile ButcherPete, it helped to find the source of the error. This bug will be fixed in the next release.
