Graves

One game I played I placed the graves a good distance away from the dump and they were ever used.  The next game I placed them right next to the dump and they were used.  Are they supposed to be placed NEXT to the dump or should they be IN the dump so you dont have a bunch of bodies laying around there?

if the dump is low priority then the graves will be used, but if the dump is at normal or above the graves will not be used for other than the excepted body types (this is from obsevation during play)

or set the grave to "critical" to be filled first, there is a tab to change it at the bottom left in "storage" when you click on the grave.

What I do is set the storage piles to "no bodies."

The problem with micro managing your graveyard priorities is... and I'm really not joking here although this seems like a joke.

If you start messing with grave priority (you have to do them one at a time *sigh*) your guys will come down and start reburying everyone based on grave criticality. I'M NOT KIDDING! It's absolutely about the funniest thing I've seen happen in this game so far.

So while I have everyone's attention:::::::::

1) let us set all grave priority at once
2) let us drag+build graves

Pro tip: don't use graves, just blow up the bodies.

For the most part I have a separate dump just for bodies in a room with a two tile border for fire containment. When it starts getting full I burn them. I only ever use graves when I lose a colonist.

I usually have an out-of-the-way dump outside of the compound walls for raider bodies. For some reason it never occurred to me to burn them. Good idea!

In previous versions, I've put the corpses into a freezer near the animals' beds, but in A17 they seem to prefer to eat from the main stockpile even if its farther away.

Don't mess with graves but for your colonists, and when you do, do it big (sarcophagus). As for raiders I just haul to a stockpile far away from the compound, I used to incinerate them, but that costs hella lot of energy so I don't bother.
Also you can copy/paste storage settings, just press n to copy and j to paste (it shows buttons for this when a grave is selected). To do multiple of these at a time just select multiple by pressing shift while clicking or highlighting the area.
