[REQUEST] Robots mod

robot would be fun and im suprised no one has said cleaner bots but you have to think.... you could basically replace your people with robot for everything and then theres no hunger no sanity no anger and also no fun i think if robots were implemented into this game or even modded in then it would have to be done carefully as not to ruin the fun we have all been having

as mentioned in a very dead post quite a while ago, it would be done very carefully, and at least i think personally it would be interesting because you would witness your colony turning into a even more civilized work environment, in which they become technical experts and the dangers become electrical fires, glitches in code, and many other things with semi-self thinking robots running around.
The voices in my head tell me to burn colonists....

but who will fix them!? more robots, sure it takes from the manual labor jobs, but makes more engineering and IT jobs, thats why im learning code! the future for everything!  8)

ill have millions or repair bots and they can repair themselves and everything else....terminator style :D and im sure if robots get made then at some point there will be a auto everything it happened will tekkit on minecraft :o but i guess theres always raiders to send you back to the stone age ;) it'll be a blast

well as soon as there is robot of any sort ill defo be giving them a test i wish i could have have some implemented nto the modpack i put together 85 new things for my rimworld atm but still feels empty without r2d2 and c3po having adventure ;D

yeah im new to this but as its early on with rimworld thought id get in on the action a bit and get involved and thanks for the signature tip!! :-[ ....;)

I understand the concern about game balancing with bots, but there are thing bots can do human can't and Bots may be great in this. First it goes without saying that bots need materials to be build and time should be expensed to build one. Then we can have just some Bot fighting arena where humans can go and enjoy a good fight. This won't break the game at all.

Having humanoïd hard working non eating non sleeping bots can become a bit boring. But having R2 and 3PO wandering in the place is sure fun.

Robots, YAY! Maybe add something to "control" the robots, like an building... "Robot Controller", maybe? They could come in different variations: Human controlled (a colonist has to be at the terminal to control the robots), Auto-control (has preset "jobs" programmed, but doesn't learn and has to be taken care of regulary to check for bugs/glitches etc.) and finally: AI-controlled (if we want/have an AI implemented to controll them).

Different "Control" types of robots: "Receiving" (have to be controlled by the "Robot Controller" and cost the least amount of work materials. They only need an receiver for commands and no "thinking" power of their own), Semi-Intelligent (can be controlled/updated [software wise] at the robot or "Robot Controller", function without control but you can't give them other work fast [Robot is farmer, a fire is nearby and you want it to take care of it, wich would then require someone to directly interact with the robot or the "Robot Controller"]. They are medium in their costs, they need some "thinking" power of their own) and finally: Intelligent/AI (they don't need an controller and can "think" on their own [maybe even with morale etc.], but it gives some risks too if they go crazy, because the can't be shut-down in an emergency [the other Roobts have a connection with the "Robot Controller" and can be shut down from there]. They are the most expensive, because they need a good amount of "thinking" power but can instantly change "jobs" and are pretty good at them).

Maybe even some different kinds of power?
All robots have internal batteries, but some could have bigger batteries, Solar Panels, (miniature) Fission-Reactors and Fusion-Power (only need water to generate power)

And then there could be Robots with "preset" jobs (or more likely, they are build to only do this one job) and are better than every other robot at this job:
Defense Robots (guns etc.), Miners...
