I am not 100% sure if this is a bug, but what happen is, one of my characters wife died, so got the -20 percent happiness for her dying, but he also lost 7 happiness for losing a friend?

again, not sure if it is a bug, and sadly, I cant show a screen shot due to a update outdating my world.

This is a known....thing? I guess. Since it's not a bug, and I'm not sure if it is an issue or a problem either.

Basically this is working as designed, although Tynan has said he might consider some rebalancing. His full quote (and link to the thread).

It's not a bug, though it may be a bad design or unbalanced.

My friend died -> because he had a high opinion of the guy
My brother died -> because it was his brother
Witnessed family member's death -> because he saw it happen and it was family
Witnessed ally's death -> because he saw it happen and it was an ally

Taking any of these away would remove some specific debuff from a specific situation. I could imagine maybe merging the last two, or having one cancel the other (e.g. 3 canceling 4), but beyond that all the info needs to be represented. For example, if he hated his brother, 1 would become a buff, "rival died".

Edit - I'll lock this thread since there has been no further info. If I have locked it prematurely, and you have more information regarding this then please PM me and I will unlock the thread. However if you want to discuss rebalancing the negative moodlets stacking associated with family and/or friends deaths, then please start a new thread in General Discussion.
