I'm not sure if it has been mentioned, but I think it would be great if you left the sprites sheets and audio in a format which could be modified.  It is a really easy way to highly customize the experience.  You could even go as far as creating a theme folder where different themes could be stored.

Don't know if this helps a bit.

Question: Will we be able to mod the game?¿

Answer: Check my post on Ludeon.com. It's a feature module that people would have to ask for, but I want to do it and the game is set up for it pretty cleanly. http://ludeon.com/blog/2013/07/moddability/

I'm not sure that's the same kind of modability...

On the subject of having user-defined sprites, here what I asked:

"The best thing that could happen to make just about everyone happy would be for us to be able, as end-users, to change the graphical assets as we see fit.
Just like DF indeed, though it may not be that easy with RW as of right now (you can check the wiki, almost all the actual pre-alpha assets are there).

I haven't got an answer from Tynan on this matter yet, but you can go ahead and bump my post there.

About sound, I doubt it will be changeable, but you never know...
